Locusts Size 1  8-10mm

Hatchling locusts are newly hatched locusts about 2-3 days old. They are green in appearance and have a soft exoskeleton, making them an excellent food for young reptiles and amphibians.

They behave the same as their older relatives being quick, bouncy and have a liking to climb. This movement will stimulate feeding in the animals they are being fed to, encouraging a hunter prey behaviour in young animals.

They measure approximately 8mm to 10mm in length.
